Drowning Prevention Auckland Educational Video & E-learning

Client: Drowning Prevention Auckland

Completed: September 2023

Drowning Prevention Auckland originally approached us to create a mammoth series of educational videos and an e-learning platform, with the goal of educating people around water safety and drowning prevention.

The initial project was completed in 2018 and took six months. However, we have continued to work with DPA ever since, creating dozens of water safety videos, with aerial and underwater angles, and a simple yet effective e-learning platform, integrated with their website and user database. View one of the videos here.

The interactive 360° video below is featured within the e-learning but is also used independently as an educational tool on the courses they deliver in person.

Completed: June 2022

Originally contracted direct to the Australian infrastructure giant Ventia, 360 was enlisted to shoot a fibre install project on the Haast Highway.

The project quickly progressed into a second shoot on the Milford Highway, and on to a third shoot for a power lines installation project in the Waitaki District, in partnership with Transpower.

We had six different end outputs, all with different purposes, but predominantly aimed towards company stakeholders.

Completed: September 2021

Queenstown Lakes District Council and Central Otago District Council decided to work together, contracting 360nz to shoot two kerbside recycling videos with the same goal: to educate residents on what can and can’t be recycled in the yellow bins.

As the two councils share the same MRF processing facility, it was possible for them to split some of the costs for the shoot, making the end result more cost-effective.

Each of the videos had very similar messaging but two very different approaches. Both versions were fun in their own ways, using local personalities to present to camera.

About Councils Kerbside Recycling

Both CODC and QLDC have a vision to become zero waste councils. Kerbside recycling is a BIG part of this vision. Mixed recycling (the yellow bins) has some fundamental challenges with what materials can and can’t be recycling, and how residents use this service.

Completed: February 2021

Queenstown Lakes District Council approached us to create a documentary-style short film to showcase their waste minimisation initiatives for the Lakeview Development project in central Queenstown.

The shoot required a specific schedule over a one month period to work in with the key presenters. The main purpose of the film was reporting to stakeholders and other councils.

About Lakeview Development

The deconstruction phase of the Lakeview Development presented an opportunity for QLDC to demonstrate leadership in minimising waste during a major project. By incorporating clear waste minimisation objectives into the tender process and selecting an experienced contractor able to deliver on these objectives, the project has resulted in over 86% of material diverted from landfill through reuse and recycling initiatives – an outstanding result and a story worth telling.

“It was an absolute pleasure working with Keith and Richie from 360 New Zealand on the production of the Lakeview Deconstruction video.

These guys are highly professional, experienced, organised, creative, and their proactive approach allowed for the capture of come great footage to support our key messages.

They really took on board what we wanted to achieve and helped guide the project by making some fantastic suggestions prior to filming, on-set, and with the video editing. The final output exceeded our expectations and has been a real asset for Council to use in conversations with the industry.

I would certainly recommend the 360 New Zealand team.”

Client: GFORCE Paragliding in Queenstown

Z

Completed: December 2017

The GFORCE team approached us initially to shoot an in-flight 360° video, with the goal of providing potential customers and booking agents with the closest thing to a Queenstown paragliding experience (before they book and actually experience the flight first-hand). After a number of meetings it became clear that GFORCE’s needs were more substantial; the project scope widened with the addition of a new website and a new promotional video.

The promo video was to be used as a 30 second teaser in booking offices around Queenstown, as well as online mediums. The website required a full re-design, a multi-lingual platform, a very specific operating status widget, and a change in hosting. We combined these two new media assets by creating a web background version of the promo video, placed on their new homepage.

The completed project is an easy-to-navigate website, with the promo video at the forefront, the 360 degree video included and 4 different language options (French, German, Mandarin and English). Check out the 360 video and promo video below…

About GFORCE Paragliding

Take off from the top of the Skyline Gondola and enjoy the ultimate flight with spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu, the mountains, forests and Queenstown itself. GFORCE is the most experienced paragliding company in New Zealand – they’ve been tandem paragliding over Queenstown since 1991!

“360 degree video had us intrigued before we even began working with the guys at 360 New Zealand. We understood the benefits of 360 video and took the opportunity to significantly reshape and future proof our online presence. What we didn’t expect was for the team at 360nz to be able to deliver so much, in such an efficient and cost-effective project.

The guys at 360nz are genuine, effective and very easy to work with. They took on feedback continuously, explained things in simple terms but always gave the “why” when backing up their points. The full project was completed on-time and within budget, and it exceeded our expectations substantially.

Overall, we’re extremely happy with all three new assets, the website, the promo video and the 360 video. The GForce team have been blown away by the quality of delivery and feel that it has been money extremely well spent. We’re now planning to create a longer promotional video with 360nz later on in the summer.”
