Keeping up with the latest gear is one of the biggest challenges for smaller digital media businesses like us.
After years wearing the Canon label proudly on our chests, it was time to make the switch to the sexy full frame mirrorless systems of the Sony Alpha series.
In our own personal photography, we’ve been using the Sony A7 for a little while already and have been continuously impressed by the balance of portability and image quality. The only thing that was holding us back was the lack of lenses available.
And yes, we’ve tried numerous Canon lens mounts, but it just ain’t the same as a native lens.
When the Sony A9 caught our eye, we took another look at the lens range and was pleasantly surprised to see a huge increase in options. Time to take the plunge!
So two days in to using the new Sony A9 and we set about shooting a short story about connecting to your environment, featuring American-born Taylor Moellerich.
This was all shot on the Sony A9, with the new 12-24mm G Lens, the Merlin Steadicam 2 and a Saramonic wireless mic system.
