Here at 360nz we have a strong relationship with the NZSIA, as longterm members of the organisation. After being involved with a rebrand for the non-profit organisation, we were asked to perform a website redesign in a very short space of time.

As part of the redesign, we needed to migrate two additional WordPress sites/databases, combining all three into one WordPress Multisite. This was a mammoth task given that the databases had over 8000 users.

The whole project was completed in just over two weeks, complete with membership database integration (with external software), a completely new architecture and navigation, and an e-learning platform that we’ve helped to build and work on continuously.

The New Zealand Snowsports Instructor’s Alliance has been training and qualifying NZ snowsports instructors since it was established in 1971. NZSIA incorporates Ski, Snowboard (SBINZ) Telemark and Adaptive divisions and is recognised internationally for producing professional and knowledgeable instructors able to teach and perform on snow at a high standard.

MITO approached us to create a series of 360 degree virtual tours and 360 videos to help them promote apprenticeships in the workplace. GWD Toyota in Queenstown came to the table offering their pristine workshop as the first shooting location.

This specific virtual tour was to be used at an expo event with an Oculus Rift VR headset, with the goal of engaging young potential apprentices.

Held at Treble Cone Ski Resort, this annual event is an attraction for snowboarders throughout New Zealand. In 2015 however, the appeal extended further afield, with internationally acclaimed pro riders Terje Haakonsen, Danny Davis, Scotty Lago, Mikeel Bang and Ben Ferguson, all turning up to compete in the renowned Treble Cone Banked Slalom.

About the TC Banked Slalom

Held annually in August, the TC Banked Slalom is a low-pressure, fun event that encapsulates the roots of snowboarding. Supported by Never Summer snowboards, the event attracts about 100 riders including a number of big name pro riders.

This aerial tour was created as a proof of concept, showcasing the capabilities we have within both our 360° aerial panoramas and our virtual tour software.

The tour takes viewers on a journey to twelve different locations over Wanaka and surrounding area, including Hawea, the Cardrona Valley and the local ski resorts.

Viking Roofspec approached us initially to shoot some aerial image content. After a quick turnaround job in Queenstown, they decided to contract us for a larger time lapse shoot in Wanaka.

Viking Roofspec had a new style of roofing they were installing at a Wanaka residential property, with the help of local contractors Watertight Solutions. Their goal was to time lapse the roof installation from multiple angles, with the aim of creating a piece of marketing marketing as well as a instructional-style video.

The finished product was showcased at a conference they held in Fiji, attended by Viking’s contractors from around New Zealand. Watch the video here…

As part of an on-going relationship between 360nz and Treble Cone, we create and maintain a comprehensive, resort-wide virtual tour that also shows their trail maps and begins with an aerial panorama.

We spent a few seasons working closely with Treble Cone Marketing to ensure the 360 panoramas were shot with optimal snow conditions and morning light. We then added an aerial panorama, which creates a certain wow-factor for the viewer.

About Treble Cone

About 30mins from Wanaka, Treble Cone offers long uncrowded slopes, legendary off-piste terrain and jaw-dropping views. This expansive mountain has the longest vertical rise in the Southern Lakes with far reaching boundaries spread over two large basins. Widely considered the best freeride mountain in the Southern Lakes, Mother Nature has certainly taken care of Treble Cone’s terrain, sculpting fun gullies, wide faces and exciting undulating runs.

This project began as an individual section shoot for Bendemeer’s premium lots and a virtual tour for their events venue The Bendemeer Woolshed in Queenstown. As our 360 panoramas proved so successful in aiding sales, the client decided to have further panoramas shot for every section available. We then turned these panos into a full virtual, complete with a lot map. The tour begins at the lake house, setting the tranquility of the area perfectly. Not only did we provide the full virtual tour of the whole development, but we included embedding codes to place each individual panorama on the relevant pages of the client’s website.

On completion of this project, we were further commissioned to shoot a few short time lapse projects and a higher-level production promotional video, created to help tell their story. The aim of the video was not only to capture the rural essence of Bendemeer’s location, but their strong community vibe, with lifestyle and personality as the core values. It was important to present Bendemeer as an exclusive lifestyle product that is still touchable and wholesome, yet edgy.
