NZSIA E-learning app

Client: NZSIA

Z

Completed: May 2022

We worked alongside our long-standing educational video and e-learning clients NZSIA, to develop an app for the online element of their instructor training course. Not just a mobile version of the e-learning platform, the NZSIA app offers powerful communication and collaboration tools, such as forums and push notifications. It allows maximum flexibility and accessibility of information, as well as integrating the membership portal, allowing course signups through the app.

Meanwhile, we also created two new courses for them. In addition to the snowboard and ski courses, their e-learning platform now offers a course for those training to become telemark and cross-country ski instructors.

About The NZSIA

The New Zealand Snowsports Instructor’s Alliance has been training and qualifying NZ snowsports instructors since it was established in 1971. NZSIA incorporates Ski, Snowboard (SBINZ) Telemark and Adaptive divisions and is recognised internationally for producing professional and knowledgeable instructors able to teach and perform on snow at a high standard.

“The NZSIA prides itself on the digital resources that we offer our members. Although we offer our products on-snow and in-person the digital resources are a massive part in the delivery of our qualifications. In the ever-changing world of technology, the NZSIA made the strategic decision to invest in our E-learning and digital platforms. The team at 360nz are a big part of creating these resources, from videos and the E-learning, through to the mobile app. The Team at 360 have been very proactive in bringing us new ideas and initiatives. They have developed an in-depth understanding of our organisation, and their continued involvement has helped us find solutions that fit our needs and the needs of our members.

The mobile app was new territory for us but the team at 360 guided us through it and continue to help us refine it. The app has been a huge success! Its continued development and scope means that the NZSIA is leaps in front of many other international organisations that deliver snowsports qualifications.”

Matua Winery E-learning

Completed: October 2022

Matua, like many wineries and vineyards, wanted to streamline their onboarding process. During harvest every year they train a large number of new staff and contractors. Running this training in person can be costly and time consuming. So we offered an online training solution that would help them reduce costs and minimise health and safety risks.

The content gives participants a solid understand of the winemaking process in its entirety, not just the specific part of the process they themselves are involved with. The platform acts as a valuable resource, always available to staff to refer back to.

In the background the 360nz team, alongside Joaco Bonet, had been developing a subsidiary company, Wine Training. Visit the website winetraining.nz.

Completed: August 2022

First Training approached us after seeing another of our e-learning platforms. They needed to be able to pre-load the first-aid training course participants with information prior to them arriving onsite for assessment. This allows greater flexibility for their course participants and made a fantastic resource and opportunity for schools to include first aid training in their offerings.

First we filmed a series of educational videos to sit within the platform, then we worked with the team to adapt their existing workplace first aid pre-course training materials to sit comfortably online, in easily digestible chunks.

We subsequently returned to re-shoot some existing video content.

Completed: August 2019

Following on from the success of our previous projects with Drowning Prevention Auckland, the DPA team chose to focus the next project towards those involved in Māori community activities in the Auckland region.

This included filming three educational videos covering the topics of Diving for Kai, Net Fishing and Waka Ama. All the videos were presented by Clayton from DPA in Te Reo Māori (Māori language).

This was followed by the creation of a new e-learning course with three modules, covering the same topics above. With some Te Reo Māori language skills in-house, we were able to deliver a draft version of the content for the courses in Te Reo Māori before using an expert to polish up the final version.

Completed: November 2018

Drowning Prevention Auckland originally approached us to create an e-learning platform to help them educate people around water safety and drowning prevention. This quickly escalated into a week-long video and 360° video shoot and a website redesign project.

The full project took six months in total, from initial planning right through to the launch at their AGM. It resulted in a 7-part educational video series, with aerial and underwater angles, and a simple yet effective e-learning platform, integrated with their website and user database. View one of the videos here.

The interactive 360° video is featured within the e-learning but is also used independently as an educational tool on the courses they deliver in person. The Oculus Go VR headsets make this delivery highly impactful.

Completed: October 2018

With a vested interest in the non-profit organisation SBINZ (the snowboard arm of the New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance), the team here at 360nz were extremely passionate about this video series.

The goal of the 6-part series was to present and discuss a different teaching methodology or concept, from the perspective of the presenter, giving the viewer a deeper understanding of the content that is found in the Snowboard Instructor’s Manual.

Each video has a different presenter; all being current Examiners and members of the SBINZ Technical Team. The videos will also to be used within their E-Learning platform that we previously helped to build.
